Meet Meredith
When Meredith first connected with Cowichan Valley Youth Services, she was 11 years old and living with a deep sense of fear.
Trauma had shaped the way she understood her world, and trust did not come easily.
What made a difference for her was consistent, caring relationship.
Working one-on-one with Sarah, one of our outreach workers, Meredith built the foundation to understand her emotions, develop coping strategies, and begin to imagine a future where she could feel safe.
Over time, that relationship grew into confidence.
Into trying new things.
Into daring to believe that joy was possible.
Today, Meredith is a vibrant young adult preparing to join the Navy. She still uses the grounding techniques she learned at CVYS and continues to honour her own strengths and capacity.
